UN-ZEIT creates hypnotic images emerging into a fog-filled space. The perception of time seems to fray; movements that were just moments ago orderly and unified begin to lose their linearity. Individuals break out of the form and move in radically disoriented ways. Postures twist under the impact of new realities and contradictions. Movements fall out of structure, and bodies, in intimate moments, search for reliability and support.

With this choreography, Helge Letonja once again surprises his audience: the powerful Symphony No. 4 by Henryk Mikolaj Górecki, with its strong contrasts and dramatic accents, provides the musical anchor for Letonja’s dynamic contemporary group choreography. UN-ZEIT was created as a commentary on recent societal developments around the world—fragmentation, isolation, and military aggression.
