Juan Tirado ( Frantics)

Juan hails from Jaén, Spain. His style is heavily influenced by breakdancing, martial arts, and computer science.

From 2014 to 2019, he served as a guest dancer at Johannes Wieland’s Staatstheater Kassel. During this time, he also collaborated with Maxine Doyle, Sita Ostheimer, and Helder Seabra. In 2016, he co-created a piece with Diego de la Rosa and Young-Won Song, which won the Residenzpreis at the 31st Hannover Choreographic Festival. Subsequently, in January 2017, he choreographed “you.IT.me” with them. In October of the same year, he worked on “13” with the LPCP company from Taiwan in collaboration with Frantics.

In 2018, he joined the Staatsoper Berlin as a guest dancer. In 2019, he participated in the P9 project, developing an inclusive piece with children with special needs. He choreographed “Vértigo” for the Staatstheater Kassel and in January 2020, he created “El diseño” for postgraduate students at the Dance Arts Faculty (DAF) in Rome. In 2021, he won the International Solo Italia, and in 2022, he became a member of Punchdrunk International.

He is a guest teacher at the Tainan University of Technology, National Taiwan University of Arts, Backstage Pool Center (Taipei), A_Space (Taipei), Dock 11, TanzRaumBerlin, B12 (Berlin), Hellerau, Studio Pro Arte, Marameo Berlin, Staatstheater Pforzheim, and Staatstheater Kassel.
