Wan-Yun, born in New Taipei (Taiwan), began dancing at an early age. She initially trained in traditional dances of her homeland as well as in classical ballet, but her curiosity soon led her to contemporary dance and urban dance styles. At BeiAn Junior High School and ZhongZheng Senior High School, she attended a professional dance program where she was introduced to a wide range of dance forms and techniques.
