The skin, our first all-encompassing contact with the world. No life without touch.
Sensory richness that connects us with the world and strengthens our sense of self.
And the discomfort in a touchless world is constantly growing. Isolation, frustration and loss of the world – who doesn’t feel the need for an embrace?

Pause, breathe, feel yourself. Or throw yourself passionately into the emotional, social whirlwind of life. In his choreography “A Thousand Steps to Silence”, TĂș HoĂ ng takes the dancers of Of Curious Nature into the process of meditatively turning away from the agitation of everyday social life. In Buddhist Taoist philosophy, withdrawing from “up-close” contact with society is the path to self-discovery and enlightenment. Can this be a way to emerge from an overflow of digitally fueled messages and emotions in which the world seems to be drowning?
Choreographically HoĂ ng shows both poles: strict movement meditation and the turbulences of being.

Or, Helge Letonja asks in return, should we embrace one another more often in order not to lose our humanity?
Helge Letonja and his ensemble move the sense of skin in its often unconscious facets. Of Curious Nature senses the richness of skin perception, the stimuli of a touch, the skin’s longing for exchange. At the same time arises a turning away from too much that cannot be grasped, including the feeling of loss and frustration.
Without nourishing their sense of trust, the bodies balance on the narrow ridge of instinctive defense mechanisms.
