What would we be without our dreams? They are our engine, our driving force, and a place of healing and self-discovery (Helge Letonja).
In A Late Summer Night’s Dream, Helge Letonja creates a choreographic metaphor through his richly detailed and emotionally expressive movement language, addressing the urgent search for connection and physicality. A gathering of young people in the forest—conceived as a place of promise—stimulates the senses through its ancient bonds and deeply rooted symbioses. The desire to immerse oneself in this mysterious world and to forget oneself gives rise to a whirl of entanglements. In their search for touch and surrender, the group throws itself into the charged atmosphere of a late summer night; individuals become caught in one another.
Ecstatic and nightmarish states alternate until the night passes and the time window for diving into a seductive dream world closes once again.
The Spanish composer Miguel Marin, who has received multiple awards for his compositions in the field of dance, creates the music for both works. For his evocative soundscapes, Marin employs electro-acoustic elements to generate an immersive experience. Through his music, he deepens the audience’s immersion into the dancers’ world of movement.
